Making Information Available on the MCN Member Portal

Museum Computer Network is a community dedicated to empowering GLAM professional’s technology needs. They have held a successful yearly conference since 1967. In an effort to support its users year round, a member portal was launched in June 2021. MCN hired a team of four UX researchers to evaluate the usability of the member portal.

Web Analytics

Reducing Hunger on Staten Island with Less Clicks and More Clarity

Staten Island Hunger Task Force felt their site was complicated and a hassle to maintain. Web and behavior analytics tools were used to assess the mobile site. Our research focused on the user's ability to find pantries on the site. While the site provides a wealth of information for users, we found three areas to improve the discoverability of pantries on the site.

Moderated Usability Testing with Eye Tracking

Enhancing Pratt Institute’s Redesigned Recruitment Tool (Their Website!)

Pratt had launched their redesigned site in the summer of 2022. They were concerned the application process for both undergraduates and graduate admissions was not successful in making information easy to find between departments and subsequently not encouraging prospective students to begin their applications. Moderated Usability Testing with eye tracking was used to assess this concern. While the new site is visually attractive, we did identify four areas of usability improvement to help prospective students find the information they need to start their application to Pratt.
